I feel like "attention hacking" is most of politics now. The Minnesota aid fraud story is becoming a perfect example.

Recap: In 2022, the Biden DOJ filed the first charges against dozens of fraudsters, many of them Somali-American, who'd fleeced a state food aid program. (1/x)

Walmart has long been a facilitator of fraud on a mass scale, a ProPublica investigation found.

More than $1 billion in fraud losses were routed through the company’s financial services between 2013 and 2022.

How Walmart’s Financial Services Became a Fraud Magnet

We all owe thanks to Chris Whipple if the Vanity Fair piece. Jonathan Karl would have saved it for his next book.
As is often the case these days, we are finding out in real time what in prior eras we would have discovered only through years-long investigations long after the events in question. It’s the Pentagon Papers every day!

This could break your heart.
I’m just going to tell the story. Back in 2000 I was volunteering for the Gore campaign when he came along with Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Alfre Woodard and Dule Hill to a GOTV event here in MN. He ended up sitting down across from me stuffing his envelopes.

"under an established WHO framework, zero deaths were deemed “certain” to have been caused by Covid-19 vaccines, two were judged to be “probable/likely,” while five were “possible.”" insidemedicine.substack.com/p/scoop-fda-...
Scoop: FDA vaccine chief’s memo cited 10 pediatric Covid-19 vaccine deaths—but the agency’s own analysis found 0–7.
Dr. Vinay Prasad circulated a memo before FDA scientists finished their work. His conclusions overshot what the agency’s own analysts ultimately found.

They are openly saying this.

It's decided.

Europe is closing the tap on Russian fossil fuels once and for all.

I don’t know if there’s any more efficient way of producing a mental health crisis outside of torture.

I took a lot of heat for this speech. Watch and tell me if I was wrong.
