The EHRC has just refused to answer all 9 of our active FOI requests, using Section 14(1) of the FOI Act. They claim we’re overloading them, despite our requests being public interest and properly targeted.

We appreciate you taking the time to submit your requests and recognise your interest in accessing information held by the Equality and Human Rights Commission. We aim to be transparent and helpful in our responses and have endeavoured to meet our obligations under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FolA) in respect of the many requests you have submitted since March 2025, however, we are writing to inform you that we are refusing to comply with the requests set out in Annex A under Section 14(1) of the FolA. We respect your right to request information under the FolA, and acknowledge that some of your requests have been well focussed, purposeful and attract value on matters of public interest. Unfortunately, when taken together, the volume, frequency and nature of the requests you have submitted over a short period have created a significant sustained demand on our resources, the extent of which is no longer sustainable." Although this refusal notice applies specifically to the requests set out in Annex A, we reserve the right to refuse any future requests under Section 14(1) of the FolA where they continue to impose a disproportionate and unsustainable burden on our resources. In making a decision to refuse any future requests under Section 14(1) of the FolA, we are permitted to take into account the broader pattern of your previous requests. We would therefore encourage you to carefully consider the scope, frequency and purpose of any future requests you choose to submit. Where the Commission considers a future request to be targeted and proportionate, we will of course endeavour to comply, however, if we consider a future request to impose a continued collective burden on our resources, we will refuse your request and refer you to the reasoning set out in this response letter."

The defense of Rowling accidentally reveals that trans women are used as scapegoats for the violence of cis men. And like, I haven't read Whipping Girl, but I think a lot of us have had the realization that trannies are the sin-eaters of contemporary society.

When the Cass Review came out last year, the NYT rushed to cover it complete with post notifications. After reviews in Germany and Utah came out supporting gender affirming care for trans youth, dead silence. You can be just as biased in what you don't cover as what you do.
