In 2025 the US averaged 49k new jobs a month compared to 168k in 2024.
To be clear these numbers were posted by the BLS today after Trump recently fired their statistics chief, claiming without evidence that the “jobs numbers were RIGGED in order to make the Republicans, and ME, look bad”.

And a level of demand for oil the world just does not have right now. And it's not gonna have it, because other, wiser nations are transitioning away from oil.
How does an entire administration not understand this basic reality? Venezuelan oil is not profitable.
Heavy crude takes years to extract profitably. It requires massive upfront investment, specialized infrastructure, refineries configured for heavy oil, long timelines, and political stability.
