That last one wasn't a great example, because no one tried to close out at all, but Kristaps Porzingis spacing 3-5 feet behind the line is so huge. Opposing bigs regularly will close out to the arc, but Porzingis is still a couple of steps further back.

The only tactic that demonstrably works is saying “The other side is bad and you should be angry at them” as loudly as possibly in as many emotionally compelling ways as possible across as many platforms as possible.
