I write and talk about the NBA, especially the salary cap, CBA and roster construction stuff. I do these things for Spotrac, NBA Front Office Show and The Basketball Bulletin. Any nonsense you see here is from me, not my employers.
I like when you are watching a player and another guy jumps out, so you add him to the list. Then you watch him and another guy jumps out, so he goes on the list too.

Anyway, Javontae Campbell from Bowling Green (popped vs Kansas St) & Delricco Gillespie from Kent St (popped vs BGSU) can both play.

Sidy Cissoko was active for his 50th game last night and is now out of NBA eligibility on his two-way contract. For Portland to have Cissoko active for any further games, they'll need to sign him to a standard contract.

Caleb Love has used 45 of his 50 games of NBA eligibility.

The Detroit Pistons are going to have the fewest losses in the NBA at the All-Star break.

Two years ago the Pistons were 8-46 at the break, after losing 28 straight games and 35 out of 36 games.

What an incredible turnaround it has been in Detroit.

It was just enough to see Nikola Topic on the floor in an NBA game tonight. If that's all it was, that would have been pretty great.

But you can see Topic's feel and passing ability already. The Thunder needed another good guard like I need another cookie, but here we are!

$500K is a pretty big fine and should send a message to the Jazz that the league is not happy with some of the things they are seeing. Pacers get hit with what has become the standard fine for violating the PPP at $100K.

I've started diving deeper into 2026 NBA Draft prep. So, you'll start seeing a lot more of those notes. I plan to spend most of the All-Star break on draft work.

A player who has stood out to me is Quadir Copeland at NC State. Great size for a lead ballhandler. Good feel for the game.

We covered the fallout from the trade deadline for the East teams earlier in the week. Now you can check out where the West teams stand after all the moves. And I give a sense of roster moves to keep an eye on for the rest of the way for each team too. Check it out!

Celtics hit the All-Star break at 35-19 and in second place in the Eastern Conference.

Hitting the 40/20 rule is a tough ask, but who knows?

Getting to 50 wins means going 15-13 the rest of the way. That's very attainable, as Boston is on a 53-win pace right now.

I just saw that Brandon Miller dunk...WOW!

I wonder what that feels like. Has to feel like flying for a moment.
February 12, 2026 at 2:36 AM
Bad loss for the Magic. Not how you want to hit the break. Orlando has a lot of stuff to figure out in the rest of the regular season.
February 12, 2026 at 2:32 AM
Nick Richards just knocked down the fourth three-pointer of his career, but his second since getting traded to the Bulls.

That's something to keep an eye on the rest of the year. If Richards can add even a semi-reliable outside shot, it changes his value as a player big time.

I'm not giving up on Rob Dillingham. He's got a ways to go, but the talent is there. And he's blur. If anything, he just needs to slow down sometimes. Maybe he never gets there, but beware giving up on young guards too early!

Ousmane Dieng has made a career-high five three-pointers tonight for the Bucks at the Magic.

White gives it up to Queta. Queta hands off to Pritchard and rolls. Pritchard drives and skips it to White, who relocated to the corner. White catches and immediately swings to Hauser, who lifted from the corner into the space vacated by Queta/PP. Hauser drills the three. Beautiful basketball!

The Jordan Walsh-aissance has been so much fun. In a season full of cool stories for the Celtics, Walsh's is one of my favorites.
February 12, 2026 at 1:15 AM
Joe Mazzulla's tough-love approach with Hugo Gonzalez continues.

Gonzalez blew a defensive rotation. Then on the other end, he had a clear kickout pass to a shooter in the corner and Hugo tried the layup himself.

That speed pullup at the nail off a screen from Jaylen Brown is such a great shot for him. Would love to see Boston run actions to get him that look more.
