I've literally never met an artist who was in an awkward stage of their development that didn't push through to something cool and well- realized provided they kept learning and trying. the only exceptions are early 2000s webcomic artists who chose to be frozen in amber
I mean, things are tough all over. If rude criticism stops you from making art, you should probably not be making art.

Do it on purpose.
Think about your choices and make them deliberately for your project instead of doing something just because some other game (usually D&D) does or doesn't do it.

So angry when I remember that not only are they destroying public health for no reason but they're also justifying it, in part, by claims it will prevent children from being Autistic like me, my brother and many of my friends.

I lived through sporking, let's not pretend people on the internet can't be HUGE assholes to people just starting out with art or writing.
That said, I agree the key is to find people who will lift you up, because those very much exist!
