Personally I think reading old books ('classics' or not) is good, actually, as is reading new books, and you can and should read both, and not make a virtue out of not reading one or the other. Art is contiguous with history, and readers/writers should have an awareness of what came before.

i definitely do feel morally superior to people who use AI but i also just dont understand anyone who doesn't have like a visceral disgust reaction to stuff that is detectably made using it. it hurts me to look at. as soon as i realize it's AI I shoo it away as fast as I can like it's a bug
