The real issue here is that anyone who thinks Trump will stick to any deal is a moron. They're gonna get Ds to open up the government and then they're gonna give every nickel to ICE and the red states and laugh at us for re-opening the government. Federal government is done.

Much of the hand wringing, imo, is over a critic explicitly saying they are judging the moral fabric of a piece of art because of the tools used to create it and it’s making some folks feel uncomfortable and shamed. The people who feel that way should sit with that feeling.

the thing that upsets me about this the most is that Dems had all the momentum, republicans were reeling, and we were getting intra-GOP fighting over the filibuster, all while voters were blaming republicans for their incompetence
