Feitelijk betekent dit dus dat er wel wordt geïndexeerd boven de 4000 euro, maar de werkgevers mogen het deel van de werknemers in eigen zak steken en de overheid behoudt in ruil voor die gunst de volledige belasting op de indexering. Ferm.

the European ICE (petrol + diesel) auto market is in a death spiral while EV sales boom...except TSLA. September saw some quarter-end window dressing but October was a return to the regularly scheduled declines of more than 40% YoY. Elon + diesel are dead letters in the EU auto market at this point.

Wonderful write-up by @erikfossingnielsen.bsky.social on a fascinating fiery debate at CERs annual economics conference this weekend (so fast Erik!)

Should Europe use incentives to pull some of our capital exports back home rather than fund Americas deficits?

Twitter pays people based on engagement (views, retweets, comments, etc). It appears that many MAGA accounts are based abroad and they use AI technology to generate low-effort rage bait.

My guess is that this will get worse as AI tech improves. For instance, fake videos of minorities doing crime.

I know there is lot going on but Witkoff got rolled by the Russians again. A bunch of R Senators said hold up today (including Graham) and Rubio just threw the clown car in reverse. Total shit show.

Terecht punt, Europeanen moeten het alleen qua inlichtingen oppikken. De VS doen al in feite het minimale.
The US effectively cut back military aid to Ukraine to almost zero.

Why would Trump get to have a say in anything?

Good morning. I've got a banger new post out today that develops a new method for placing voters on the left-right ideological spectrum, and adds a new, "non-ideological"/affordability axis to usual way we chart & think about US voters (esp swing voters). www.gelliottmorris.com/p/not-just-l...
Not just left vs right: Most voters think about affordability and material wellbeing, not in ideological terms
Most voters want a party that emphasizes cost of living issues and makes the world a better place. Few Americans think in solidly ideologically terms. "Moderates" are mostly non-ideological.

I think someone should ask Grok who would be a better President, Musk or Trump, and then post the screenshotted answer on Truth Social tagging Trump.

French authorities are taking X to court because Grok is now doing straight up holocaust denial. Gas chambers intended for disinfection, cyanide residue tiny, ‘story’ persists because of taboo against critical examination. (Full translation in alt text)

“Grandma doesn’t need slippers.”
Fox guest on how to save money during the holidays:

"Remember, adults don't need gifts. Focus on the people in your life who are aged 3 to 18. Grandma doesn't need slippers. If they don't live by you, don't get them a gift."

The US and the Euro area have roughly the same population and median income per capita in purchasing power parity.

The poorest half of Europeans are richer than their American counterparts, and the richest half of Americans are richer than their European peers.

Excellent AER paper from Luca et al. demonstrating how China’s exports crowd out production and curb innovation globally.

It reinforces the argument I made in Politico last year about the drag China’s distortions place on EU productivity and innovation.
