this is the first time I ever saw Adonis. I had messaged a local rescue to inquire about a different, unavailable cat. the rescue messaged me back saying they had this sweet orange boy who is very hurt and just needed a place to recover, even as a temporary foster home, would we be interested?

Saint Benedict restores a strangely miniature monk to life after he was crushed by a falling wall. From the predella of Lorenzo Monaco's Coronation of the Virgin altarpiece.

When you just can't get enough of the gold: polyptych of the enthroned Madonna and saints, 1410, by Lorenzo Monaco. It's been his day today.

Morning! Do any fellow historic building fans have a copy of Pevsner’s Nottinghamshire guide that they could kindly consult for me? Looking for info on The Friary/Shalem House, in Newark. Got the listing description but know it’s in Pevsner too. Thanks! ☺️
This is in a fab panelled room in there…🤩

Church of St Odulph, Pillaton, Cornwall

15th Century granite west tower. Of 3 stages, with buttresses set back from the corners, an embattled parapet & pinnacles.

The Weary Friar pub perhaps dates to the 12th Century. There may be monastic links or former use as a church house.

Bronze pennanular brooch with inlaid terminals, circa AD 450-550, was the latest object deposited in the Spring at Bath.
Late Roman, probably made in Ireland; birds and fish on the terminals might be associated with the goddess Sulis Minerva.
