Tim Cartmell and Better Edmonton are cheating.

They're intentionally breaking election signage rules, and they're happy to use their large corporate donations to make any fines go away.

They believe in a city where rules do not apply to the rich and powerful

What we name things in cities matters. Especially things that were built with a lot of public money and should be helping define the city. We sell names too often, and too cheaply, and too often to the same damn companies (yes you Rogers).

Good article by @shawnmicallef.bsky.social, give it a read.

One of my favourite bands, The New Deal, just dropped their first album in 5 years.

I first saw them as the opening act for DJ Spooky in Calgary, AB in 2000!

A great episode of Song Exploder covering what I consider one of the best songs from the '80s, Tears for Fears' "Everybody Wants to Re the World."

The album this song is from, Songs From the Big Chair, was the first album I ever bought. It has stuck with me ever since.

When the leader of the Parti Québécois is defending and agreeing with your actions, it is a clear sign Smith's actions are not in line with the national or the majority of Albertans' interest.
