Ian Dunt is turning into a real trans ally, this article describes the likely stitch-up of how Starmer and Philippson are likely to take away all trans people’s human rights without a debate or vote in parliament.
The trans rights stitch-up
How government plans to silence debate on the new rules

Anyone who considers trans rights to be a debate is not someone I can vote for. It would be lovely for there to be a single party in the UK who is not pro-trans elimination.
🚨 EXCLUSIVE | Green leader candidate Ellie Chowns PRAISED Supreme Court ruling that gutted trans rights.

Chowns welcomed the ruling, saying its critics "do not speak for all trans people". She called for "open conversation" about "contested issue" of trans rights.

Every day I hear of more trans kids dropping (being forced) out of school. Kids who have used the bathroom with no bother for years, sometimes throughout their school years, who are now being forcibly outed, excluded, isolated, & segregated. 1/3
This is beat for beat exactly what Section 28 did.

Oh, and you can't blame this one on Tories. This guidance was drawn up exclusively after Labour took power.

This Labour government is the single worst thing to happen to the LGBT+ community since Margaret Thatcher.

Shame on every Labour member.

THREAD 🧵 of initial thoughts on the transphobic schools "guidance" produced by this deeply transphobic Labour government today.

SECTION 28+

This morning the media coverage of the new RHSE guidance for schools led me to suggest it represents Labour’s Section 28. The real thing is, however...

Imagine being that trans girl, sat in a classroom while your teacher tells everyone that you are a biological male who cannot use the toilet because it is illegal & you make women uncomfortable. There is no way of teaching this that is not bullying, & many teachers will do this awfully.
I think teaching kids about the SC ruling might backfire tbh. Most normal people would be like "wtf?"

The government explicitly ignored the public consultation on their terrible new guidance for schools

Most people said the guidance was bad. They went ahead anyway
I fully expect Bridget Phillipson - also the Minister for Education - to entirely disregard any responses to the EHRC consultation, in the same way she did in the consultation about trans-inclusion in PSHE education in schools - which had 2/3 support but was still ignored! 😣😖

The government now wants teachers to explicitly teach that trans people have less rights than cis people, and that "biological sex" is different to your sex in terms of biology

It's not Section 28, but indoctrinating oppression and science denial is disgusting. Labour hates LGBT people
Still a bit shit, but better than the Tory one.

This is consistently the case with stuff like this. The GC movement wants to force anti-trans policy on organisations that want to be trans inclusive. See also, their harassment of VAWG services that had made a positive choice to be trans inclusive.

The UK government is introducing conversion therapy with the claim that being trans may be “secondary” to other conditions.

There is no evidence for this claim.

Medical professionals going along with this are acting unethically.
In other NHS official documents (not publicly available) they reference:

"an extended assessment over a period of months... to diagnose and sufficiently address underlying conditions" "because.. gender related distress may be" "secondary to other mental health / psychosocial challenges"
