On hold to HMRC in the UK and honestly do bosses EVER fucking make their own calls because if hanging around for hours is their idea of service I have some suggestions. (Of course they're FAR too important to have to wait 20-30 minutes being told repeatedly "Your call is important to us")🤬

This is an empirical and appalling measure of how far victims have to go for accountability from the senior ranks of the police, it is literally now evidenced that you need an 'I'LL DO TIME' online-harassment-case level of vengeance-seeking. It shouldn't be like this.
They prosecuted the woman who made complaints against him. #nzpol

“Over a period of years, Lack said the woman attempted to report allegations of a serious physical, psychological and sexual nature by McSkimming, who was one of the most powerful police officers in the country.” #misogny #corruption
Police bosses ignored sex complaints against top cop, charged woman for 'revenge' emails instead

Maybe the "mature conversation" NZ needs to have is about the gap between rhetoric and reality with CEO and board appointments.

Just seems a little short while ago that various government politicians, and people acting as their media surrogates, were outraged and scandalized by, and poured scorn on, comments from younger women politicians for suggesting many people don't trust cops.

Highest levels of the force - filth.
Well, this story just got a lot fucking worse. www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/jevon-mcs...

This is utterly sickening, particularly the charges under HDCA. Many, many things from the 2021-2023 period of my life in terms of police (in)action related to threats made to me now must be viewed thru this unholy prism.

He is a computer safety researcher.

And he has written one of the most compelling, comprehensive accounts of the ongoing hell in Chicago that you could possibly imagine.

Big Tech is so unregulated. If any other industry was creating products so faulty and so destructive, various agencies would be under pressure to rain down hell. But not with social media or AI. Laws around under 16s regulate US not THEM. They need to be regulated. It’s insane behavior.

Treasury is saying "woe is us" again and suggesting asset sales. So here's a reminder from the OECD that our Govt actually has a net worth ($191bn per Treasury) which makes us an outlier globally.
