I'm a lawyer in a film. I have perfect hair and wear ridiculously tailored suits. Following a montage of paperwork and my assistant bringing coffee, I do dramatic things in court rooms while the camera periodically hones in on onlookers to tell you how you should feel about what's happening
I am a writer in a film. My publisher has sent me to stay in a white-painted apartment in Helsinki so I can finish a manuscript. One night I brood out the window at midnight and see a woman leave a briefcase by a birch and four minutes after she leaves another woman picks it up. I hear cellos.
I am a writer in a film. I finished the manuscript on Tuesday. It is in the book stores on Wednesday. On Thursday it is on the best seller lists. On Saturday I will win a major writing award for it. I will be at the premiere of the movie based on the book next week.

Im aroace and have started reading books with mcs like me and started crying because I so badly needed those books when I was a baby queer because I recognized the experiences id never seen them, your voices matter and if they can make the difference for little me, they can for little someone else!
So just for the record here, I've read more today, and we're now down to 10% for the last two days.

lets talk on big issue for artists, REVIEWS. lot of discussion on how to feel about these things when youve put so much work into your art. usually buds will assure you 'dont worry, that negative review is wrong,' but i disagree. i think it is important to remember that NEGATIVE REVIEWS are correct

Complicity is hard for me, because I want decent career federal employees to stay whereever they can to do what they can to mitigate this, (and I believe you can do a lot with policy to reduce impact, even if never enough)
