Under the U.S Constitution, the President is very explicitly not a king. The President's wishes and decrees do not magically become law.

A defining policy battle is about to come to a head in this country. The Republican budget will force everyone - especially Congress and the White House - to make plain whether they are prepared to harm the rest of us in order to fund tax cuts for the wealthiest.

HB 1662 is DEAD! Legislators heard loud & clear that Hoosiers want help - not handcuffs - for the unhoused community.
We will continue to remain vigilant as language from dead bills can be amended into live bills, but for now, please celebrate your advocacy efforts- they made all the difference.💜

If you wanted to cut waste, fraud, and abuse, you would empower the inspectors general.

If you wanted more waste, fraud, and abuse, you would fire them.

It's weirdly difficult to remember that Trump's popular vote margin was /less/ than Hillary's in 2016. Biden got more votes in 2020 than Trump got in 2024 and Trump surrogates all under-performed in congressional races.

This is not a mandate, I don't get why it is being portrayed that way.

SB 1 would give a little bit of property tax relief to some Hoosiers - but would cut millions of $ from school and community services for ALL of us. This bill will be voted on by the Senate Tax Committee Tuesday morning. Send comments to chairman Sen. Holdman at s19@iga.in.gov, 317-232-9453.

My hot take. Being called a racist, misogynist, a trans/homophobe, bigot, etc because someone voted for a racist, misogynistic, transphobe, homophobe bigot isn't name calling.

Extreme anti-democracy lawmakers aren't even trying to hide it - they're coming for our voting rights RIGHT NOW. On Mon. morning, the Sen Elections Ctte will hear SBs 201, 284, & 287, which unduly burden voters & restrict voting options. That afternoon, SB 10 heads to the Senate floor for its vote.
