A portrait of Otto Dix at work. Profoundly affected by his experiences in WW1. Dix was one of the founders of the "Neue Sachlichkeit" ("New Objectivity"), a major art movement of the 1920s.

Quite the storm last night. Shibuya had 100mm + of rain in under an hour, I heard. And it was crazy around our area. The top of our building got struck at least once. This video looking north east, past the Keihin Canal and motorway, towards Odaiba.

Should we follow Putin out of the ECHR?

Or is it just another Brexit where we give up our rights in the vain pursuit of making migrants disappear?

So, for those killed and those whose voices are silenced: what more evidence do you need?

Will you act now – decisively – to prevent genocide in Gaza and to ensure respect for international humanitarian law?

This Council must prevail. Demand this ends.

A former French military base, Vauban is a thriving neighbourhood of 5,500 residents connected to Freiburg town centre by bus and light rail. Built in the late 1990s as a radical experiment in low-car living, it forgoes virtually all on-street parking in favour of active, green, and social spaces. 🧵

I think I've seen this "Unorthodox Trade Theory" film before. First time round, Brexit, mainstream economics won easily notwithstanding a lot of claims to the contrary. I'm expecting the same again. www.nytimes.com/2025/03/27/u...
With Car Tariffs, Trump Puts His Unorthodox Trade Theory to the Test
