Look I’m as happy to catch up on curling once every 4 years as the next person, but 4 concurrent curling streams is just too much curling no offence to your national sport @downieseb.bsky.social 🥌👈

I had to add the arrow because otherwise you’d just say to yourself “well, not that handsome man?” and not realise I’m talking about the building 👇

I was invited on @lbc.co.uk with Matthew Wright this morning to chat about the IOC’s baffling decision to sell t-shirts commemorating the 1936 Olympics.

I suggested it was weird to make, sell, buy, and wear them. Crazy, I know.

Had no idea, but am not surprised, that the bicycle food delivery business completely stinks. If you order from Uber Eats, Wolt or the like, watch this so you're at least informed.

Talking Stasi with Stasi expert Stasi Steve 👇

According to one commenter, Keir Starmer's government is *exactly the same* as the Stasi. So, you know, there's that.

(in case it's not abundantly clear I do not endorse that viewpoint)
Were one in six people somehow working for the Stasi?

No.

But the myth persists. I talked all things Stasi with expert Steve Ewin in my latest YouTube video.

Privately, Kennedy accepted that the Wall stemmed the refugee flow from East to West, and he chose not to challenge it militarily despite public condemnation.

Two years later, to raise morale in Germany during the Cold War, Kennedy made a visit to West Berlin that became one his defining moments 👇

A few dozen people were born in the Reichstag in 1943 - their mothers walked from the Charité maternity ward, over the river, and into the (relative) safety of the Reichstag’s cellars during a time when Berlin was being bombed often & heavily by the RAF.

So glad you’re home, sweety! Yes, I spent about an hour of my day making this. Yes, I do have a real job.

My latest long format video covering JFK’s famous 1963 visit to West Berlin is live now :)

Needed a photo of myself for a thing and accidentally got this thoughtful and moody number.

I think I’m thinking “how do I turn on the interval setting on this camera?”

Turns out you turn the dial to the interval setting. Complex stuff.

Germany’s infamous homophobic law, Section 175, was enforced from 1871 right up to 1994 - 123 years!

The Nazis strengthened the law and used it to imprison tens of thousands of German men. After their defeat the law stayed on the books - more arrests were made in West Germany than under the Nazis 👇

High praise indeed! Thank you 🙏
I think this has to be one of the best of @jonnywhitlam.bsky.social's videos I've seen: crams decades of history in to less than 17 minutes, but tells the story better than many people have done in three-four times as long: you should take a bow kind sir.
