Wow: Per Hamdi's legal team, his only charge was a visa overstay — after Trump revoked his visa.

Despite DHS tweeting that Hamdi supported terrorism, they never charged him with any criminality.

In other words: Trump revoked a journalist's visa, so agents could arrest him for overstaying his visa.
NEW: British journalist Sami Hamdi is being released from US detention.

Trump administration agents detained him two weeks ago at the San Francisco airport — hours after he addressed an event, where he urged US leaders to take an “America First” approach rather than “Israel First.”

This is my biggest release ever but it's important to me to represent as many people as possible, especially considering how kind Dropout were to let me make them! I know that a lot of the more niche flags will never break even but I'm so happy to share them anyway.

We've been here the whole time.

Following up on this. This remains a ‘cave is minutes or hours away’ situation. If you want to impact how this plays out you need to contact senators literally now. I want to add additional points of context. What I’m relaying is what I’ve picked up from highly reliable sources.
Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.

Just absolutely classic BBC. You've just broadcast the most successful programme of the year, uniting Gen Z kids online and Boomers on broadcast in a return to appointment television. And instead of celebrating, your DG reigns due to a made-up right-wing scandal.

This got lost in the scrum about higher profile races, but "Moms for Liberty," an anti-queer hate group that has been infiltrating school boards for the last few years, fielded 32 school board candidates, and lost all 32 elections. People are getting fed up with professional bullies.

A great day for the golden rule of political analysis: when the right wins it is a resounding ideological victory that humiliates the left and when the left wins it is a precarious fluke that will surely end up humiliating the left. Conservatives are power’s landlords and the left merely tenants

This is insane. Is there *any* race that was expected to be at all close that the GOP won?

Mamdani and @bradlander.bsky.social had a vibe that absolutely changed the race, too. A Muslim and a Jew, best buddies on the campaign trail, showing us the kind of we-actually-CAN-get-along vibes that NYC represents at its BEST. blacksky.community/profile/did:...

Instead of breaking up, the workers galvanized. Tens of thousands of workers from different ethnic background marched through Lawrence, holding flags and singing in the streets. Their determination eventually won out and the moment is remembered as the "Bread and Roses Strike."

Kat is being federally charged by the FBI for protesting at Broadview.

This is a flagrant political prosecution by the Trump administration, which is trying to prevent free speech and free association.

I am proud of Kat. Her movement is being targeted by the government. She needs your support.
I have been charged in a federal indictment sought by the Department of Justice.

This political prosecution is an attack on all of our First Amendment rights. I’m not backing down, and we’re going to win.

It is innumerate to compare the % of adverts containing any black person with the % of the population: unless adverts contained 1 person each.

This massively exaggerates the (actual) "over-representation" of black voices and flips the actual under-representation of South Asians in TV advertising

It’s quite impressive how Mamdani has pulled almost every Dem into his coalition, not him into theirs. He keeps the door open for everyone but true enemies (Adams, Cuomo) & rather than try to extort a Hochul into a promise, he just puts her onstage & lets the popular will confront her. Amazing.
Governor Kathy Hochul is speaking on stage, but the crowd keeps interrupting to chant #TaxTheRich
