Amazon announced 14,000 layoffs. Its CEO made over $40M last year.

UPS announced 48,000 layoffs. Its CEO made over $24M last year.

Intel announced 20,000 layoffs. Its new CEO's pay package is valued at nearly $69M.

This is what I mean when I say the system is rigged.

Taking the high road all the time is getting trans people killed and I really need people to stop pretending it's not…

I'm sick and tired of people demanding perfection from politicians as if there has ever been, or will ever be a morally good politician… The nature of politics makes it impossible.

Apple and Google are both radically anti-consumer companies in different ways and I really wish people would stop pretending one is better than the other, when they are both equally bad in different ways that make them more/less suited for different purposes/people…

Cell phone companies in Canada have begun blacklisting virtually all older/foreign made phones in order to force customers to purchase new phones.

What phones are acceptable are extremely limited - Public Mobile will only allow 26 models of phones to make calls on their network.

"I wish it need not have happened in my time,' said Frodo. "So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."

I never thought I would say anything nice about Richard Nixon, but at least he had the decency to leave office when he knew he had crossed the line.

Made my mom mad about this share on insta. Basically got a #notallchristians. My therapist response of “it may be worth reflecting why this landed so sharply with you if you know it isn’t true about you or your people” was not appreciated

I once managed a maintenance ticket system for an NGO. Someone in employee housing asked me to look into his ticket about a leak causing bad mold not being fixed for months, so I was concerned the system broke.>

In the 1940s, the Taft-Hartley Act was passed. This banned sympathy strikes and boycotts, allowed employers to use paid work time to campaign against unionization, ended wildcat strikes, and created right-to-work laws. Yet, this served to do more than just weaken a union's ability to strike. 🧵

The Dallas ICE office is involved in a mass removal effort targeting nearly 200 people — many without removal orders — scheduled to be deported to El Salvador today.

This is not just cruel – it is lawless. I refuse to stay quiet while families are being torn apart, and lives are being put at risk.
