Hey y'all, I guess I'm giving it a go here on Bluesky. You may know me from the other place, but if not, here's a little introduction. My name is Matt Nightingale, and I'm a gay Christian pastor, writer, TEDx speaker, spiritual director and musician from the San Francisco Bay Area. 🧵
I'm always grateful for my LGBTQIA+ contemplative spirituality group. Tonight there were 15 of us from all over the US and Canada, including one newcomer. We "come as we are, experience God/the Divine/Spirit, and see what happens."

Such a lovely night tonight!

We always use a lyric video for the song when we can go make it more accessible, but I totally recommend watching the official video for Window which is so powerful

Tonight's contemplative spirituality group for queer folks & allies was lovely. We had a slightly larger group than usual - 18 people, from all over the US & Canada, including 2 new friends. As always, we were invited to bring our whole selves and experience the Divine together.

I'm always grateful for my Monday night queer contemplative spirituality groups. We gather each week to experience the Divine together, to listen for God's voice in music, scripture, poetry, and the voices of friends. Tonight, 17 of us gathered, from all over the US & Canada.

Cheers, Queers! See you tonight?

Hey y'all! I'm participating in this livestream fundraiser tomorrow to help Jennifer Harris Dault and her family relocate to Europe to protect their trans kid. Tune in from 3:30-4 PT/6:30-7 ET for my conversation with @celestefinally.bsky.social! And check out all the other great guests!
Alright y'all - this starts in less than 24 hours! When we say "protect trans kids", this is a super practical way to do it - helping a trans kid escape the US will change her life. Plus look at all the amazing people joining! Come hang out and consider helping if you can! Reshares are helpful, too!

I'm always grateful for my Monday night contemplative spirituality groups for queer folks. Tonight was open to allies, and we had a really sweet time together. 13 of us, from all over the US and Canada, gathered to experience God through music, poetry, and one another.

Last night's Contemplative Spirituality Group for LGBTQIA+ folks and our allies was really lovely. We had more people than usual, and the conversation was fascinating. We are always invited to bring our whole selves - just as we are, experience God, and see what happens.

This poem!!!
I'll be sitting with this one for a good while. So much to ponder.
Thank you for these words @razorfemme.bsky.social
And then for our lectio divina practice, we read @razorfemme.bsky.social's "trauma is not sacred." Thank you to @jennadewitt.bsky.social for choosing the song and the text, creating the graphic, and for reading so beautifully for us tonight. 🙏🏼❤️🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

I LOVE this song so much and combined with the poem, I had a lot of big feelings picking these. Neither being consumed/consuming as traumaporn nor brightsiding spiritual bypassing is the way. We must go through the paradox, the grief and the joy, the gratitude and the rage, loneliness and belonging.
After opening prayers, listening agreements and check ins, we listened together to Julien Baker's "Rejoice."

SO many thoughts about this poem. I'm grateful for @razorfemme.bsky.social putting concise words to concepts I ramble on and on about. :D

I love my Monday night LGBTQIA+ contemplative spirituality group. I've had a pretty stressful, anxious day, but this community always welcomes me as I am and the Spirit meets me there. I'm always grateful for our shared experience of the Divine.
