Missed the northern lights bc teething made bedtime a little tougher than usual (when I said “do you need more cuddles” he gave me a tearful “uh yeah” so I had no choice) but maybe I’ll get to catch them tomorrow

Fine, I’ll teach W to read myself I guess. Related: I loved phonics work as a kid and incidentally was reading well above my grade level pretty early on

Today was so good. Nothing on the calendar. We hit on all cylinders and got stuff done while still enjoying our little turd and each getting some of our own recreation in too. Productive but still somehow restful.

I’m in episode 6 of Hunting Wives and it’s SO bad. But like campy and soapy and I’m totally hooked. Regretfully.

My productive Saturday: cleaned the whole kitchen including floors, 4 loads of laundry (mostly put away too!), the grocery order, the Costco order, and I walked the dogs all before 5pm. I even got intentional playtime in with the toddler. Sharing a Rick pic in celebration

Child development experts can tell me if I’m right but one way I’m already working on consent with W is with our tickle game. I get him with tickles and he laughs then says “NO” and every time he says no I say “okay I’ll stop” and I stop. Then he says “again!” And I tickle again until he says “NO!”
