Oh, @dieworkwear.bsky.social, did you see Clark Kent wears pleats in scene where he is arguing with Lois? Going to need a call on if they’re back. I’m Gen X so will adapt better than some but we’re going to need some guidance here.

In my brief 3 years working in HIV in Wisconsin the most Milwaukee thing ever happened. There was a HIPAA violation at a local hospital and I'm pretty sure it was a nurse who was terminated for looking up medical records she wasn't authorized to, including....Bob Uecker.

Oh yeah there was definitely a coastal-led discourse around then of 'Starbucks will kill small coffee shops' and 'Amazon/Barnes and Noble will kill independent bookstores,' and most of the country had no quaint quirky coffee shops or cool bookstores so we were psyched.
I worked at a Dairy Queen in my hometown summer 2004 before college. This was a town south of Omaha. People went NUTS when the "MooLatte" was introduced because it was the closest they could get to a fancy, premium coffee drink in our town. There are now multiple Starbucks and others in my town.

Oh that is a good flag. You could argue AI is overkill as I’ve seen models that were just vendor algorithms (weight, labs, previous dx) to alert & trigger sepsis work up but hey, whatever makes it happen!
There’s a lot to unpack in the Bipartisan House Task Force Report on AI. It’s clear that progress will require collaboration to ensure a healthy evaluation/adoption pipeline.

Glad to see @ucsdhealth.bsky.social’s work in sepsis AI highlighted in this report.

yes! I would also like to get up on my favorite soapbox to remind you guys that the vast majority of Emergency Medical Services workers in the United States are actually VOLUNTEERS, and this often hits rural communities especially hard
Rural areas in the eclipse path have been declaring States of Emergencie because they will suddenly have 10,000 visitors but still only 2 firefighters and no health facilities. It's not because they think it's the rapture.
