I'm so glad that Trump restored the meritocracy.
Trump said he deserved a cut for brokering the TikTok deal, and at once there was agreement that his son Baron would have a top executive slot... though he hasn't asked for it, and has no apparent qualifications to hold it. This is how Trump 2.0 works. www.telegraph.co.uk/us/news/2025...

The president just gathered the highest ranking officers in the military to tell them that he may order them to kill American citizens -- and that they better follow his orders. All in response to a series of crises that have no basis in reality.

I don't know how to yell any louder.

This is the real defunding of police.
New numbers show ICE is devouring US law enforcement: 1 in 5 US marshals, 1 in 5 FBI agents, half of all DEA agents, and over two-thirds of all ATF agents are now assigned to ICE enforcement. These are agencies with critical jobs they're now NOT doing.

The more this settles in, the more its danger and gravity becomes clear.

1. This was a crime, whether under domestic law enforcement, international law or war law.

2. By its very logic, there is nothing preventing them from doing the same within the US.

3. They are bragging about it.

"In his first term, [Trump] praised then-President Rodrigo Duterte of the Philippines for doing an 'unbelievable job on the drug problem' in the nation where Mr. Duterte’s government had sanctioned gunning down suspected drug dealers in the streets."

This is why they fired the lawyers.
1/ I worked at DoD. I literally cannot imagine lawyers coming up with a legal basis for lethal strike of suspected Venezuelan drug boat.

Hard to see how this would not be "murder" or war crime under international law that DoD considers applicable.

Over 125 economists signed the open letter calling on the President, Congress, and the American public to uphold the principles of Federal Reserve independence and not remove Lisa Cook without due process.

There's still time to sign! And please share.

When African Americans applied to segregated southern universities, white officials would routinely dig into their personal lives to find any semblance of dirt that they could play up to pretend they were criminals and therefore unfit to attend the school.
President Trump’s attack on yet another Black woman in public office gives away the game – if you were still harboring any doubt – about his corrupt use of mortgage fraud allegations to target Democrats.

Not even remotely true. According to the Fed, the median and average sales prices for a home peaked in mid-2022 and have been slowly falling — despite several million migrants arriving. But due to high interest rates, the Home Price Index is still slowly rising.

6 months later, with armored humvees and (as of tomorrow) military personnel carrying weapons of war through the capitol, with a concentration camp built in the florida everglades, with SCOTUS and circuit courts enabling this every step of the way, i think this framing has been entirely vindicated
the constitutional crisis is actually 25 years going, but most people shrugged their shoulders and kept moving because it was happening very slowly. we are now in the final constitutional collapse phase, which is moving orders of magnitude faster.
