On one hand, I think we should teach robots fear with a boot. On the other hand, is it okay to kick something that's just a little guy? Years of sci-fi has left me with a soft spot for our mechanical brethren.

Half the survey respondents say that they don't feel safe on transit, but this was not a scientific poll. It was a survey of whoever wants to respond. Still, look at this. People who use transit think it's much safer than people who don't.

I finished Chain-Gang All-Stars today and it feels like a hell of a time to have read it. One of my favorite books I’ve read in the last few years and an ending that was like being punched in the gut.
