One of Portland's best small rooms is calling it quits later this month. Lollipop Shoppe has been a fixture music venue since opening its doors in 2022, hosting some of the most diverse programming in the city 🍭

Using generative AI in filmmaking is bad. It's lazy and non-collaborative, which usually results uninteresting and joyless art. And in the rare cases when it's passable, it's still based on stolen labor to enrich the wealthiest people in history at the expense of escalated environmental destruction.

Drew Struzan, born in Oregon in 1947, saw his career jumpstart when Lucasfilm asked him to co-design a new poster for the re-release of the first Star Wars film.

His ability to express the sense of adventure for the moviegoing experience eventually made Struzan a legend in the film industry.

Would show a decent, slow-burn character study on "Uncle Ted" as an extension to the season's horror theme, but worry it'll be met with hostility or, worse, excitement by terminally-online audiences, and don't have the energy to host a post-screening discussion on the failures of primitivism.
