Since I have to reintroduce myself after the move:

I’m Kat. California biologist, currently in Davis. Herpetologist. 15 years in private consulting (utility and infrastructure), mostly as a field nerd, doing surveys for local flora/fauna and passing on whatever niche wisdom I can.

We have 42 people signed up for the volunteer program and ready to start amphibian audio surveys in the city of Davis! Preliminary surveys start tomorrow and run all week, with teams officially starting Dec 1st. This is my first widespread-effort citizen science program, wish us luck! #herps

Sierran treefrog (𝘗𝘴𝘦𝘶𝘥𝘢𝘤𝘳𝘪𝘴 𝘴𝘪𝘦𝘳𝘳𝘢), one of four native tree frog species in California. Tree frogs are distinguishable from other types of frogs by their large round toe pads, which help them climb!
