Autistic people get a lot of crap for being "rigid" but if you understand how we're experiencing the world, certain things are legitimately a big deal. Family-only and family + friends are completely different and it's not even a debate.
If you have autistic relatives for the love of GOD don’t invite them to a family only thing and then drop extra guests on them and make THEM feel like an asshole if they don’t want to come anymore. You’ve fundamentally changed the thing you’ve invited them to.

Any article observing that the AI bubble is about to burst *but then suggesting AI is too important to our financial systems to be allowed to fail* is missing the point. Generative AI is a massive fraud and a brain drain on humanity, even leaving theft and resource issues aside.

Isn't it interesting that people have this notion that we only discovered cigarettes caused serious illness in the mid 1900's, but I'm reading a book from 1866 that states the dangers of smoking as well-known fact.

I've been thinking about this a lot lately, with the Trump presidency. It's clear that having no shame/morals has been a big advantage for his campaign, and enough people either don't mind or don't push back against this. Is the solution to be more moral in the face of this? It doesn't seem to work.

IDK why, but I find those spam emails that are very sexually inappropriate so funny when they phrase the subject as a question. Like "Some lewd phrase?". "Please X my Y?" lol I dunno, makes me giggle.

It is eternally fascinating to me how often someone says “I have a question about X”, and someone else replies “Well I don’t know anything about X, but here’s what I know about Y”.
What is happening in that person’s brain? Why are they doing this? I truly do not know, but I want to. Maybe. 🤔
