This is the line that Dems need to push. It can't be simply. "Political violence is bad" it MUST be "Political violence is bad and Trump and his ilk are responsible for creating conditions ripe for political violence"

People who suggest that either all art/storytelling should be escapist or that storytelling that is escapist isn’t art, make me want to peel my face off and chase them into the sea. I love storytelling and the arts, because of HOW MUCH we can do with them. I’m so tired of this dumb shit.

At the screening last night Tony Gilroy spoke about why a lot of people in creative fields are progressive. I forget his exact phrasing but basically it’s because you have to have empathy in order to make something that speaks to people. Refreshing to hear empathy talked about as a positive.
