Public history, museums, fundraising, public health, patient safety, writing, new books, music, random Internet stuff, fluffy animals, cancer survivor. Is there a way out of this?
Transdermal estrogen in the strength I use is currently "out of stock" according to CVS's supplier, McKesson. Instead of automatically obtaining it from another CVS store, I am being told I need to start calling other stores to find it. Isn't that the pharmacy's job? To FILL my prescription? 1/

This situation blew up while I was on a very foggy walk, so I didn’t have time to send one of many emails I’ve sent to Adam Schiff’s office in the last 10 months. Glad to see he’s on the right side for once.
I refuse to support a funding bill that fails to address the Republican health care crisis.

And make health insurance affordable.

The American people clearly understand the stakes and the urgency. We must too.

I'm voting no.

My physicians already do this. Figuring out why my arm still hurts 6 months after a poorly placed IV and propofol infiltration has proven too difficult. Not a single health care provider I've encountered has made an attempt at critical thinking or problem solving.

The sad blob commercial made me feel sad. It's a blob. It hovers over earth and frowns. No arms. No legs. Its ability to spark joy, even for itself is inherently limited.
I remember all the commercials with the sad Zoloft blob and you're right, it feels kinda quaint

you still went for little blob walks and you experience blob sadness. you have not yet experienced 9/11

Ah, Pennlive says "At the last minute, he said he built his own version to create a vision of a somber entrance to a cemetery. He said he researched photos of cemeteries online" which... you gotta translate stuff, folks!

I’m watching the Lilith Fair documentary and I’m finding it extremely depressing. I was a young adult, still a teenager during this time & there was optimism that things would only get better. Of course, they didn’t!

Restoring California's St. George Reef Lighthouse will cost at least $10 million and helicopter access. It's a race against time -- and rising seas.

New cancer dx on social media resurfaced bad memories. I was unable to wash my dishes b/c I was depressed. A "friend" said nastily, "Did your mom wash your dishes?"
No.She brought paper plates & plastic utensils, leaving me with a sink full of dirty dishes to do when I got home from surgery. #cansky

Physicians need to be required by law to disclose medical errors to patients and apologize, whether the patient knows it happened or not. Seventeen years later, I don’t know what happened to me. Because nobody would tell me. I only know what I can recall.
Do you have any extremely niche, but serious, ethical stances?

I cannot protest today because I am working! However, I am a fundraiser for a history museum. Being a part of a history museum in these times feels like a rejection of kings right now. So I’ll take it!

There is a shocking amount of critical infrastructure maintained in total by the Army Corps of Engineers. Most Americans have no idea.

If the govt starts jacking with it for the lulz, sh*t will collapse and Americans will die. Let’s be real about this.
NEW: White House announces it's going to pause, and potentially cancel, $11 billion in infrastructure funding (via the Army Corps of Engineers), specifically citing cities, like New York, represented or led by Democrats. More to come.
