I sort of am becoming a statue posting “REMEMBER WHAT THEY TOOK FROM YOU” because they are in fact taking things from me, right now.
the western alliance was born in the fires of the most catastrophic conflict in the history of the world. republicans are spitting on the graves of the dead. these men and women are human filth.
Genuinely insane we are living in a world where the Danish have to deploy a battlegroup to protect themselves against America. Makes my blood turn molten, honestly

Does anybody else get the sense that America is occupied by a foreign empire? Like Trump's whole movement is a fifth column built like Quislings doing the work of Moscow and Beijing? Because I can't explain this idiocy any other way...

I'm starting to feel that techbros believe so strongly in AI because they see kindred spirits: that the measure of a human is gliding through life regurgitating received information. It doesn't really help that it's how we designed our education system.

Not a great feeling right now. I understand a lot of people in Britain are justifiably upset about certain legal proceedings, but I'm somewhat more concerned by the fact that constitutional rights and freedoms for literally everybody in the US have just evaporated entirely...

Donald Trump has committed the most profound, harmful and unnecessary economic error in the modern era. Almost everything he said—on history, economics and the technicalities of trade—was utterly deluded econ.st/3YbbFjq

all jokes aside, the idea of getting china, japan, and south korea to agree to literally anything is wild and speaks to just how much of a colossal disaster trump is internationally.

“At least Russia has elections”

Russia frequently jails and kills any opposition to Putin, who has been in power since 1999.

If you like dictatorships, that’s fine. Just admit that. Don’t insult anyone’s intelligence—including your own—by claiming Russia has real elections.

I'd like to call upon my friends in the Free World to resist "American" influence in your politics and foreign policy. We're being occupied, in the same way fascism occupied much of Europe and Asia in the 20th century. I look forward to our liberation at the hands of our European friends...

The dark truth of Donald Trump is that he is empty. He possesses no strong beliefs or will beyond a thirst for power. Unfortunately, that made him a blank canvas for the desperate and unremarkable to paint their delusions onto.

This is sort of the skeleton key to understanding a lot of shit: there 100% is a non-trivial amount of inefficiency and waste in the federal bureaucracy, and most of it is a *direct result* of ‘reforms’ that are meant to assuage the people who complain about “waste and inefficiency in govt”
for decades the federal govt has bent over backwards to limit spending even on totally sensible things like office coffee, all so they can say your tax dollars aren't going to pay for coffee. and it was all for nothing bc elon is tweeting out conspiracy theories about non-existent fraud.

Sure, but the popularity of cigarettes et al can speak for itself, too.

We realized there were real harms to cigarettes and took steps to minimize their use.

At this point I think we need to be having honest conversations about what is and isn't healthy for our minds.

Ever since the huge influx of users post-US election it's been getting more and more like old Twitter, where people are just needlessly trying to prove that they're just so much smarter than the person they're replying to. And it is very, very tedious.

Trump trashing cybersec and AI oversight councils makes perfect sense if you assume that techbros are midwits who unironically believe Roko's Basilisk.

Just finished Fall of Cadia by @robertrath.bsky.social, a hearty novel about humans, which is an ironic rarity in 40k. I especially like Rath's characterization of Creed and Kell, who deserve a lot more screen time than they've been given these last 24 years.
