Just a guy, man. Don't make it weird. Into Warhammer, Gundam, Space Exploration, and the Military-Industrial Complex.

He/Him
Like I said, there are lots of reasons to do that. But it's not like police departments in the US aren't aware of the cop they just hired being a wife-beating, civilian-shooting bastard. It's very much a culture in policing itself.

In other words, all reform of US law enforcement should begin with a purge, then consolidate from there.

I think a hypothetical US Marshals (or whatever the American equivalent to a mountie or gendarme is) risks being the same fat idiots stuffed into a new uniform with more power and fewer criticisms of overreach isn't likely to change anything.

The US has many dozens of uniformed federal law enforcement agencies, many of which are incidentally armed to the teeth and only restrained by jurisdiction. The same people in one organization might make oversight easier, but also invites a lot of freedom for abuse.

I would argue, though, that abolition of one or more various law enforcement agencies is pretty much just consolidation of federal law enforcement (which was the purpose of DHS). There's lots of good reason to do that. Just remember that doesn't solve the core problem of hiring incompetent cops...

I have not exactly been given reason to believe that isn't the case. I really can't think of any actual grand strategy or theory of operation Trump might possibly subscribe to, so the lowest-effort explanation seems just as correct than anything else.

I thought that as well, technically, it's more of a power to know when a container contains something. Although that very much depends on what is considered *empty*. Air is a thing, and so are photons and gamma rays. Nothing's ever truly empty...

How does the power determine intentionality? It's not sentient and can't read context. The text does not make it clear how exactly the powers are bestowed, so we can't assume the power even knows what a toaster *is*. It makes more sense to say the power affects what the user *believes* a toaster is.

I genuinely thought they were going to make Acheran a named Dreadnought character and Chairon a Lieutenant. Well, he *was* a Lieutenant, but that's past tense now...

TBH it's a good thing our military sucks at parades, I can't imagine they'd squeeze a lot of "lethality" out of training for that.

Put another way: they believe the definition of intelligence is being a good Chinese Room and completely fail to understand the meaning behind that allegory in the same way that a machine would fail the Chinese Room.

This piece is unforgettable. The way you exactly captured the wallpaper as it gets lit differently even though it has a pattern is incredible.

The severed thumbs thing was pretty hardcore though.

He thinks people who are "seeking asylum" literally came from insane asylums in other countries, so I will not put that line of reasoning past him.
