I love reading good books. I love writing.
A good guy without a gun stopped a bad guy with a gun.
Ahmed al Ahmed, a Lebanese Muslim who owns a Sydney fruit shop, risked his life to disarm one of the Bondi Beach shooters.

His courage gives me hope amidst the horror and darkness. Muslims and Jews are not enemies. Our futures, in the Middle East and beyond, are intrinsically bound.

A true hero.

Zohran is always referring to his constituents as ‘New Yorkers’. He’s giving them an overarching identity…he’s restoring an identity. He’s uniting them by doing that. Over and above everything, at the end of the day, they are all people of a city - that’s a powerful uniting message.
Exclusive: Zeteo’s Prem Thakker goes on the campaign trail with Zohran Mamdani on this final weekend, to talk Islamophobia, New York’s pigeons, Halloween costumes, whether he has any regrets, and more.

Let me explain the stakes and how we got here.

#OnThisDay in 1994 the final fragments of comet Shoemaker-Levy 9 struck Jupiter. The impacts, which can be seen in the bottom left of the image below, hit at a speed of 37 miles per second and created fireballs at temperatures of 23,700 degrees Celsius, leaving lasting marks in Jupiter's atmosphere.

Just as an image conveys data visually, sonification conveys data with sound. No two people will explore Rubin’s images the same, & no two listening experiences will be the same. 🔭🧪

Does anyone actually understand quantum physics?

We asked six physicists why they’re still arguing after 100 years of quantum mechanics

Thank you. I needed to hear this.
Feeling sorry for an abusive person is not compassion-it’s enabling.

Asking those who were hurt to consider their abusers past is not understanding-it’s enabling.

Putting the wellbeing of an abuser before the healing of who they’ve hurt is not healing-it’s enabling.

One of the girls is quoted in the article as saying, “It was a shock; we didn’t expect it. We had already noticed a little bit about what was going on in the U.S. But at the time, we didn’t think it was happening to Germans.”

That last sentence doesn’t sit right with me.

Let’s get through March. 💪
My advice for March 2025🧵
Since Venus will kickstart the month w rx in Aries, then Mercury will move into Aries on the 3rd, then it goes retro, we may experience irritation, emotional outbursts, we may get frustrated easier.

All of 40s are spent getting thrashed? Geez!
These major transits also correlate with how we age. The aging of the cells is not linear. They happen around these major cycles. Isn't that interesting?

Our photo group did a night hike to reach this special and secretive spot in the salt flats of the Altiplano in Chile. I did a 20 second exposure with a 14mm lens, while a flashlight revealed this incredible blue lagoon. Another otherworldly place on Earth.

Monthly reminder: Many people have a book in them, but it takes a special kind of freak to leave the Land of Laziness, cross the Plains of Procrastination and Insecurity Mountain, find the Blade of No One Made You Do This, and use it to cut your chest open and yank that book out.

For Maths fans, 2025 is a square.
45² = 45 x 45 = 2025
Also,
9² x 5² = 2025
40² + 20² + 5² = 2025
My favourite?
1³+2³+3³+4³+5³+6³+7³+8³+9³ = 2025

if you made art this year, you did well. a sketch, even if it was scrapped ; a poem, even if it was deleted — mattered. you put thought to paper, you engaged with the creative alchemy of turning feeling to something tangible. doesn't matter if you weren't productive "enough." or good "enough."

One of the best things I ever did for myself was stop comparing my life trajectory to people who have support systems. I won’t say I never had help, but I’m just now truly understanding the difference between “assistance” and “support”.

Hey

You know that one project?

That one you've wanted to write FOREVER except it's scary as hell & maybe you don't feel good
enough or brave enough or strong enough?

Spend 15 min on it today

Keep the dream alive

Even a pot on the back burner needs to occasionally be stirred
