We can have news that isn’t in thrall to billionaires, administration water-carriers, or corporate honchos. Mother Jones is an example of how journalism can stay independent and free.

Today is the LAST day to donate to our organization. We'd greatly appreciate it 🫶 tinyurl.com/y6wzer7w

NEW: Trump used his first veto to block a unanimously approved Colorado drinking water project.

Lauren Boebert, whose district the pipeline project is in, slammed Trump, suggesting it was retaliation for her signing the discharge petition to release the Epstein files www.9news.com/article/news...

I have found that people generally do not wish to discuss syphilis.

But it’s fortunate that the always-excellent @lizszabo.bsky.social is not one of them.

It’s important to know that syphilis incidence is increasing in the US.

A little-noticed provision in the TRUMP AI Act would ban big tech platforms, including ostensibly Google, from distributing "sexual material harmful to minors" — a phrase routinely used by conservatives to ban not only porn, but sex ed, LGBTQ literature and repro rights resources.
The TRUMP AMERICA AI Act is every bit as bad as you would expect. Maybe worse.
Sen. Marsha Blackburn’s latest is an anti-tech omnibus, combining years' worth of dangerous policy ideas into one big, bad bill.

Throughout history, “out” groups, especially those who live in poverty, have been blamed for the disease spread.

Few took the time to understand that the conditions in which our society forces people in poverty to live is what causes disease spread. It’s far easier to blame the most vulnerable.

I say his gently, but…

There’s something unspeakably shameful The United States letting people go hungry.

Not because its government doesn’t fix it —

but because tomorrow a few private Americans could, and never notice the cost.

That’s the part that sits wrong.

The story is insane. The acting head of cyber security, a Noem crony, repeatedly demanded to see highly classified information he didn’t need access to, and when staff set up a lie detector test as a condition to grant him access, he failed it. So DHS suspended the staffers.
