Translation: We billionaires need massive amounts of electricity for our AI to make us trillionaires and put people out of work, and we thank you for being able to convince so many dopes into paying a lot more on their electric bills over the next few years to make it happen.

All over the world, people WANT rewilding. Time our politicians started turning that clear wish into actual policy. Let's bring nature back!!!

And all it takes is one WaPo op-ed, or one "smart" person opining on it. The imprimatur is important for people to accept because of the unthinking confidence in authority and existing systems. "They can't be fascist. America is a democracy." So the fascist actions become acceptable.
The other dimension for urgent reflection here is that, if you can get respectable people to agree to terrible things, they will automatically convince themselves that those things are not terrible, and must be respectable, precisely because they agree with them.

Just throwing out some possibilities.
1) Blue states declare a state of emergency
2) Enact the title 2 of the Emergency Banking Act of 1933
3) Restrict moneys transferred out of state specifically targeting transfers to the IRS
4) Redirect those transfers to a state escrow account.

One thing I'm fucken sick of hearing is that people on the poverty line "don't want handouts."

Well, the rich take hand outs. Maybe they're rich bc they were offered handouts. Maybe they're rich bc they take them.

This "shame in receiving free money" for the poor but not the rich makes me SO MAD

A # of problems would have been greatly reduced by white men simply liking themselves instead of measuring their self-worth by the oppression of others.

The ideology of white supremacy & patriarchy is a collective self-esteem failure that prevented many people from building a self-worth on merit.
