I wish Dems would speak up and speak plainly. When Rs say only some people should get healthcare, housing, food -- they are saying that only those people deserve to live and everyone else deserves to die. Denying healthcare, food, housing is a death sentence for people. Stop dancing around it.

I just finished The Everlasting by Alix E. Harrow. What a journey! The writing is on another level, and the story unspooled into an epic that is about power, our humanity, and the lies and truths we tell each other (not to mention all the reasons WHY.) Highly recommend.

I need everybody to read this and understand what’s going on. These are spouses of US citizens in the country legally. They have entry clearance and green cards, they’ve passed background checks and have no criminal records. ICE is taking them anyway.

If I were to sum up my advice to the Democratic party leadership about how to defeat Trumpism, it would be to set aside policy for now and focus instead on articulating a vision of what American society should look like and what role the US should play in a rapidly changing world today.
