I believe in a better world.
Where people are put before money.
Where we think about the legacy for the next generation
Not the next election.
We are not all born equal,
But we, all things being equal, doors should be opened
Not minds closed.

Reminder that this government needs to "tax wealth, not work" if we are to improve the economy.

Poor people spend on goods and services. This grows the economy.

Rich people buy your homes, your business, your working hours.

I was in two minds about leaving X. Part of me wanted to continue countering disinformation (deliberate misinformation), but the volume simply got too much.
Also hilarious, for want of a better word, that British ‘patriots’ are amplifying & funding foreign actors who live in unsafe countries & have never been near Britain slagging off Britain. Good old Elon.
I see a lot of Paidchecks on X didn’t realize that a whole lot of people on social media lie about their location to grift off the naïveté of the rage-addled American right.

Turns out this problem is real and it’s a thing those of us who worked on “disinformation” pointed out.

The logic of paying 80% for a service and 20% for shareholder profit, when we could be paying 100% for a service, eludes me.
NHS private finance diverts money away from healthcare, towards the pockets of private shareholders.

Cat Eccles MP’s motion can force the government to drop their NHS private finance plans from the Autumn Budget.

When will people stop believing their dis-information and realise who is funding it?

It never stops.
The grubby donations. The profiteering. The lobbying. The lies.
“In 2019-20, as the UK was leaving the EU, Harborne gave £10m to Nigel Farage’s Brexit party, since renamed Reform UK.”
They make damn sure they get what they want.
We get screwed.

The real problem with inflation isn't government deficits (when they are used to invest in infrastructure and growth, rather than tax reductions for the already-wealthy) it is the growth of private credit.

Sounds counter-intuitive, but there's a reason why: www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJ2p...

Them: “I’m sick of subsidizing their groceries when mine cost so much”

SNAP does not drive up grocery prices.

That would be inflation, tariffs & corporate greed.

For every $1 spent on SNAP there’s a $1.50 going back into the economy.

While you’re blaming the poor, the rich are robbing everyone.

The privilege of "Pulling up the ladder behind them" springs to mind. Maybe not her, but her ancestors took advantage of the opportunities that life in Britain offered.

I get that we have too many people, but sh***ing on the most desperate, those fleeing war, or famine, or persecution, is shameful.
