They’re fighting for their city but they’re also fighting for all of us
We owe an incredible debt to the Minnesotans who are on the streets protesting and documenting what is happening.

This is the last I’ll say before election time cause I truly just like to use the site to see art, game makers and writers. Just something to think about as we move forward and this applies to any country with elections that would be considered “Western” as far as the Cold War is concerned.

In a rural corner of Louisiana, Meta is building one of the world's largest data centers, a $10 billion behemoth as big as 70 football fields that will consume more power in a day than the entire city of New Orleans at the peak of summer.

When an mNBA Finals game ends, we get at least a lengthy postgame show and then SportsCenter takes it from there with extra coverage.

When a WNBA Finals game ends, we get College Football Scoreboard.

So that's where we're at. #WNBA

Friday’s SCOTUS decision was issued in a brief, unsigned order that contained virtually no reasoning. It was accompanied by no signed opinions from any of the justices in the majority and over opposition from the three Democratic appointees. Only Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson wrote.

The majority gave virtually no reasoning. The Democratic appointees objected, but only Justice Jackson wrote: "[Y]et another grave misuse of our emergency docket."

even if it was “just” mississippi, THAT’S BAD ENOUGH.

coincidentally, it’s just behind DC for highest percentage of black americans (38%) and it’s home to 16.1k trans adults and it’s been captured by bigots since…since it became a state?

mississippi is worth fighting for!
To those who thought it was so funny that Mississippi lost access, you have no idea who lives here, who suffers here, who is now losing access to resources and community that they need.

I really need you to understand what I mean when I say
1 state down, 49 to go.

MS Free Press does good work.

Support them.
Mississippi's new social media age-verification law has now forced BlueSky to block Mississippi IP addresses.

Our Mississippi Free Press team is now urgently having to grapple with what that means for our audience—and for press freedom.

My new editorial:
Ed Note | State Law Compels BlueSky to Block Mississippi IPs
Ashton Pittman writes about how Mississippi’s social media age-verification law prompted BlueSky to block access to Mississippi IP addresses.

The DC Cir majority lifts the ban on firing CFPB staff bc there was “no…statement, written or oral, purporting to shut down the CFPB” & noting the gov’t “does not claim the power to ‘shut down’ the CFPB.”

But then AG Bondi tweets out: actually, that’s been the plan all along!
