For decades, Australia has failed to collect enough income from our mineral and fossil fuel resources.

We’re still collecting more on HECS than from the PRRT, our super-profits tax on oil and gas. (Hint: it doesn’t work).

Successive governments have failed the next generations. This needs fixing.

David Attenborough is right, “if we continue on our current path, we will face the collapse of everything.” We know what we need to do, it’s the corruption & lies of the fossil fuel companies & our leaders that makes extinction more likely. We need zero emissions within 5yrs!

Privatizing public services almost always results in poorer outcomes for the users of the services but sure does make some people rich!
Let's sack 36,000 public servants! The Coalition says outsourcing government work to consultants is not such a bad idea. Have they had their heads in the sand for the past 2 years? Gutting the public service gave us RoboDebt and cost the taxpayer billions.

Govt waste or important services? The 36,000 public servants in Dutton's sights

Who are the Nats? Like seriously?
It's amazing what having a spine can do. The only thing Albo is standing firm on is his hatred of The Greens. The Libs need the Nats to be in government. I believe it's well past time Labor looked to the Greens not to form a coalition, but a partnership that keeps the LNP out for 4 terms at least.

There should be a Christine Holgate Award presented to old white men who should have resigned but didn’t. Brereton would be favourite this year.

Absolutely drop the Scott Morrison imposed fees for Arts degrees. The #LNP hate educated people, especially those who study the Arts (because these people don’t usually vote for them).
Get rid of all the nasty #LNP university fees #RadioSydney

Today I introduced this in Parliament. It’s time the Big Tech giants were made to manage their algorithms to make our online experience safe, time we stopped asking users and parents to be the solution to social media harm. The operators of these platforms should step up. My Bill would achieve that.

While we are all pretending politicians/public shouldn’t have any influence over a sovereign fund run by Australia for Australia (which was political from the moment of its inception) here’s some of what its investing in:

Dear @albomp.bsky.social,
With respect, your Govt needs to:
• Oppose Israel's attacks on #Gaza, the #WestBank & #Lebanon
• Protect the #environment
• Act on #ClimateChange
• Support #renewables, not coal
• Withdraw from #AUKUS
• Fix the #NACC
Do this. Or Dutton will win. #auspol #AusVotes

It's clear ABC Australia & ABC News mgmt is actively ignoring audience feedback:
• most program Twitter accounts were closed so public (and program-specific) feedback is discouraged
• complaints to the ABC are 'acknowledged' yet there's no apology or change.
• respected hosts are sacked. 😔 #ourABC?

Few people know this: half of the world's energy use is for heat used in buildings and industry.

And almost all of it is from burning fossil fuels.

That's why we need to decarbonise heat if we want to stand a chance of meeting our climate targets.

Trump won a clear and convincing victory. But he and his allies are trying to pump it up into a "landslide," which it was not. With 49.997% of the vote, he fell short of a majority and his 1.6-point margin of victory is the third smallest since the 19th century. www.nytimes.com/2024/11/22/u...

The latest vote count shows that Donald J. Trump won the popular vote by one of the smallest margins since the 19th century. But Mr. Trump claims a “powerful mandate.”
