Due process is the infrastructure-y-est of infrastructure; infrastructure is the foundation for capitalism and markets.

Been hearing from my clean energy friends in Minnesota what a great champion Rep Hortman was of the energy transition. Thoughts are with her family but also appreciation of her incredible legacy.
Next Monday, we will finish the work of the 2025 legislative session.

In addition to balancing the budget, DFLers successfully protected nearly all of our 2023 accomplishments, and we will continue to fight for a future where everyone can get ahead – not just billionaires and big corporations.

Not being even vaguely sarcastic:

At some point, a journalist needs to ask Johnson “you regularly claim you have no idea what your own government is doing. If we take you at your word, how are you so poorly informed, and do you this level of ignorance should disqualify you as speaker?”
Q: What's your message to the 170 US citizens who have been detained by ICE? About 20 of them are children

MIKE JOHNSON: I don't know what you're talking about with the children. I haven't seen that so I'm not going to comment on it.

We are fast becoming a banana republic, with two standards of justice. If you oppose the leader, you go to jail just for speech. If you're a loyalist, you get immunity for your crimes.

That's what happens in Iran - not the United States. This is a decision moment for America.

This is a massive, history making abuse of your power. It will define your legacy and one day you will come to regret punishing free speech and trying to destroy democracy.

In January 2025, Musk endorsed the German neo-Nazi party AfD and spoke at one of their rallies. Days before that, he gave a Nazi salute at a Trump inauguration party. Now he is inciting violence against immigrants in the UK.
Elon Musk spoke by video to Tommy Robinson's anti-immigrant rally in the UK today.

"You're in a fundamental situation here where, whether you choose violence or not, violence is coming to you," said Musk. "You either fight back or you die."

I've been around long enough to remember Republicans blaming Obama for the October 2008 economic crash. When Bush was president and had been for seven years.
Rep. Mike Collins: "Fast-forward to the Biden administration. They put this on steroids. Example? Summer of love, where rioters were out there burning police stations, assaulting officers."

(Donald Trump was in fact the president in 2020.)

“Back into a Democratic controlled hellscape?”

WTF

Where the F*ck in America does this guy live?

The only hellscapes I’ve been aware of are prisons / detention centers (and perhaps Epstein’s island.)
MAGA cartoonist Scott Adams telling the rest of the cult that the Epstein evidence will hurt Republicans more than Democrats. MAGA doesn't respond well to inconvenient information like this. They were all promised the evidence would bring down prominent Democrats, like Bill Clinton.

Let Trump’s personal history be a guide, he doesn’t care about debt, doesn’t feel obligated to pay debts, and likes low interest rates to boost investment. Doubt he has any understanding of the interconnectedness of the global economy and how his preferred policies can drive us right off a cliff.

I had no idea how much support was about the Epstein horror.

While I can’t understand how “his closest friend” was somehow going to deliver justice, it suggests maybe there was a bit human decency behind some of the support?

But also kids in cages from the first go around?

I’m flabbergasted.
