Little old lady I saw at a protest recently told me "I'm retired, I made this my new job. If they arrest me I have a nephew, he's a lawyer, he'll help me out." I cannot stress enough, there are people out there ready to make the world better. Join them as soon as you can and the world will change.

yes—and also, it is not everyone's job to act like a politician! if you're not a politician, it's actually not your job at all. so if you think ice should be abolished, don't give up on saying it. politicians will never be brave unless they're scared of the rest of us.
there's more than enough people saying "prosecute and hold ICE accountable" and "reform and better train ICE" to reach the people who are thought to be reachable with incremental change, so I feel like it's time and energy well-spent, personally, to hold the line with "abolish ICE"

I have depression & anxiety and I do self-work with out seeing a professional. I try to express to others that the best thing to do is to look at it from a different angle. Try not to assume the worse, I do send book rec's and mental health playlist I have to hopefully help.
Watching doc about resilience that reaffirms many changes I made last few years to my mental outlook (I read a LOT of brain books). Brains are hallucination engines. If the story is the world is shit, everything is fucked, brain reframes every interaction this way. It impacts behavior; shuts us down
