This feels a bit unfair. The question he was responding to was "what if he later turns out to be a horrible criminal" and his answer was essentially, "that is what due process is for and so far the courts have been shown zero evidence of any crimes"
Actually @vanhollen.senate.gov you can and should defend both, and saying you're not defending the man is cowardly.

So either Pete Hegseth is telling Russia & the world that every U.S. president & general has been lying about our military being the most lethal fighting force in history..Or he is telling the truth that the U.S. navy can’t match the Russian navy.
