OTD in 1939 USSR began to liberate Finland from themselves in the Winter War. It followed denials, a false flag, a bullshit excuse, us deliberately targeting civilians while we took massive casualties we lied about.

Imagine that happening today...

Do I understand correctly that there is now a dispute within the administration about whether this "peace plan" was written by Russians or Americans?

This is not a peace plan. It is a proposal that weakens Ukraine and divides America from Europe, preparing the way for a larger war in the future. In the meantime, it benefits unnamed Russian and American investors, at the expense of everyone else.

Trump’s problem is that while he may truly want to end this war, and the cost to Ukraine is probably pretty irrelevant to him, Russia clearly does not want the war to end. Trump may think that he’s working with Putin, but Putin isn’t working with him.

"We just adjusted a little bit with the motion, with the footwork, to decelerate a little bit more, to have a little bit less sliding, but overall to be prepared quicker for the ball."

Maciej Ryszczuk on the modest adjustments made to Swiatek's game on grass

Great insights from Radwanska too 👇
Swiatek didn't believe she could win Wimbledon. Yet she did. “I developed my game, and I haven't felt like that for a while.” Swiatek has to be the only champion I crossed not thinking sky is the limit. Maybe at Wimbledon, she busted that ceiling. If so… tennissweetspot.substack.com/p/swiatek-ju...
Swiatek Just Busted Her Ceiling
Iga Swiatek didn't believe she could win Wimbledon and yet she did. Lesson learnt? Also Time has finally started to win its match against Novak Djokovic.

How to motivate citizens to contribute to national defense?

Using the Finnish case, @alanderminna.bsky.social highlights two elements: “a threat perception on the negative side, and the feeling that the country is worth defending on the positive side.”

While claiming to seek peace, Russia launched a deadly airstrike on Kyiv.

This isn't a pursuit of peace, it’s a mockery of it.

The real obstacle is not Ukraine but Russia, whose war aims have not changed.

Astonishing words to hear from a Canadian prime minister. Within months of taking office, the Trump admin has done lasting damage to core American interests, including continental defence. And for what? To satisfy the whims and impulses of a deranged leader, not for any carefully considered aim.
Carney: "The old relationship we had with the United States based on deepening integration of our economies and tight security and military cooperation is over."

Jaw dropping ignorance. Witkoff knows nothing. Has no knowledge of the violence that Russians have used to suppress Ukrainians in Occupied Ukraine
It’s clear from this that the only difference between Steve Witkoff’s and Vladmir Putin’s views on the war in Ukraine is that Putin actually knows the names of all the five Ukrainian regions he wants to keep.

He convened the cabinet to limit Elon after voters pressured Congress.

He delayed the tariffs b/c the market dropped out & created fears of a recession.

He's losing in court b/c DOGE didn't follow the law.

Keep fighting.

- Keep pressing Trump on guarantees, even if prospect fading
- Do all possible to avoid Trump blaming Ukr and/or Europe for a no-deal
- No alt. to rearmament in every scenario
- Prepare to keep Ukr armed to best poss. degree e.g. what can ROK/Turkey sell?
