Mensik and Sinner came to mixed zone at the same time and Jannik insisted for Mensik to go first. “You’re playing tomorrow.“ Hen then stayed after his own press time to sign for fans at 2am, taking pictures and all. You don’t only see champions in victory but more often in losses.

That was a monster of an inside out BH from Mensik! And another great BH to return that second serve. Sinner down. 7-6(3),2-6,6-3. Overall pays some bad choices in the first set, a slow start of the third but also Mensik’s FH really did some damage. Well, so long for THAT final in Doha…

Mensik’s legs have given up on him a but here. FH all over the place, also hit two DF in a row to go down 4-2. 6-2 Sinner and yes we’re going three again. Who needs to sleep!? Not tennis people.

Sinner said yesterday he started to use drop shot and net because he wasn’t having great sensations so wanted a way out of the rallies. Seems it’s happening again a bit but, with all due respect, his variations skills are still not at same standards as his baseline game so that’s rough. But brave.

No idea why Sinner tried to turn into Niculescu at 3-4 in that TB when back from 1-4… Didn’t end well. 7-6(3) Mensik. Jakub saved four break points at 1-1, Jannik saved one at 3-4. They’re playing the exact same game but, plot twist, Mensik was more clutch under pressure here.

Alcaraz said he found energy “coming from nowhere“ after the first set to keep running and trying as he knew he’ll get chances. Like yesterday, he says he’s tired but he’ll keep fighting.

Alcaraz said Royer was playing better and better while he was starting to feel really tired in the second set. Happy he pushed through and found his best tennis when needed.
