There's cheap, and then there's too cheap to outbid the Orioles. Same old story from the 2020's Red Sox.

A friendly reminder that Connecticut sucks and that Alaska is underrated.
Here are the most viewed NBA team pages on Basketball Reference in each state this year!

I think I missed something. Why does DOD want soldiers/military personnel to use AI? Beyond all the ways this is patently awful, I just want to know why this is even a thing, beyond greed and promises made to an AI company. I'd love to know *which* AI company is benefiting from this too.

From now on, my rooting interests for the NBA Cup are:

1. Celtics
2. Teams that play on not red courts

The Grand Canyon of gaps

3. Teams that play on red courts

I honestly can't imagine watching this entire NYK-TOR game. It's like playing on a deconstructed German flag.

This feels like ragebait designed to make me furious, but the way you raise a newborn without ChatGPT is by providing the kid with your love, attention, time and presence.

In other words, you raise your child by showing them the best of your humanity, which explains why Sam Altman doesn't get it.
Jimmy Fallon: "And do you use ChatGPT when raising your baby?"

Sam Altman: "I cannot imagine figuring out how to raise a newborn without ChatGPT."

3️⃣ Things I Noticed on League Pass

🔀 Jaylen Brown, switch-hunter
🆙 Deuce McBride, skying high
🏀 Danny Wolf, slingin' it

Brown is ruthlessly hunting switches to generate mismatches and taking advantage of them with what has been a deadly mid-range game.

The Celtics went 162 minutes and 8 seconds of game time without trailing this week.

Led the final 28:47 vs. NYK.

Never trailed @ WAS.

Never trailed vs. LAL.

Led the first 37:21 @ TOR.

(Lost a 23-point lead to the Raptors, but still extended their winning streak to 5 games.)

Just a balancing of the scales from when he shot 28.6% from 3 in the first three games of the season. The only difference is that after those first 3 games, far too many people were busy writing the team's epitaph to notice it was but a blip.
It's only three games, but Derrick White is shooting 41.2% from 3 in December

It should also be noted that the C's had six games in nine days, went 5-1, and their coach didn't even embarrass himself whining about the schedule the way Steve Kerr did a couple weeks ago. Imagine that.

The Celtics have beaten the other five teams in the East's top six at least once.
The Celtics, who had their highest-scoring first half in over a calendar year today [77 points], now have nine wins against teams that are .500 or better. That's the most in the NBA this season.

Boston has moved into third in the East. They're 1.5 games behind 2nd-seeded Knicks.

when a poor person uses food stamps for a steak or homeless person spends $5 on a beer, it’s seen as proof that all poor people are so bad with money that they shouldn’t be given any, ever, for any reason. $77 billion out the window, and zuck’s legacy as a safe government contract bet is secure.
Mark Zuckerberg’s gamble on the "Metaverse" has lost his company more than $77 billion.

Real hate? I can't imagine anyone. Sports hate? Definitely Brian Gionta. Jorge Posada would be high up on the list for sure. The Manning brothers. I feel like Bill Laimbeer has been covered. I'm kind of locking up on more, but there are lots of others from a sports hate perspective.
That’s a new dinner party conversation: Who is someone that you hate so much that, if given the time, energy, and crew, you’d produce a 4-part documentary on them?

Tyler Ford continues to be a blight on the NBA. Tonight, Austin Reaves took 17 free throws. Do you know what Larry Bird's career high FTA was? 17. And the only reason Reaves didn't get more was because Redick pulled his starters halfway through the 4th. Sadly, Tyler Ford couldn't help Reaves play D.

That's because he's the best. Marcus forever.
Marcus Smart isn’t playing tonight, but he’s out here signing autographs and taking pictures with fans before tonight’s Celtics-Lakers game.

More children will be dead if this policy goes into effect.
Dead children, who would have been alive if not for RFK, Trump, and the Republican party.

RFK must be removed immediately. And we will have to work hard to undo the policy damage he has done.

Between now and Jan. 4th, the Bucks have 13 games, 8 of which are on the road. And the 4th is actually the start of a really tough stretch. Four-game road trip, home for Minnesota, then mini two-game road trip to San Antonio and Atlanta, and then home for OKC and Den. on Jan. 23.
Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo is expected to be sidelined for approximately 2 to 4 weeks with a right calf strain, sources tell ESPN.

14 of the Celtics 21 games so far have come against teams .500 or better. They are one of nine teams to play 14 or more games against teams .500 or better. They're 7-7, and everyone else has a losing record. So they've held their own against good teams to start the season.

The biggest problem with the Magic remains that their four best players are all kind of the same hothead idiot. Banchero, Bane, Suggs, and Wagner are all prone to doing really stupid things at the exact wrong time, and often they'll do them because they get riled up. They badly need an adult.

I think there's a pretty decent argument for Jalen Johnson being a better asset right this second than Giannis is. This strikes me as highway robbery. I can't see a single reason why the Hawks do this.
Alright Hawks fans: if Milwaukee wants Risacher, Johnson, the New Orleans pick, their own '27 pick, and Kennard for the salary match .... are you doing it to get Giannis?
