You can pick any play and see how much effort Luka Garza puts forth when he's on the floor. The one below exemplifies that.

After beautiful ball movement, he battles one-on-three for the offensive rebound. Then he gets it again and draws a foul on Jaren Jackson Jr. The definition of a Tommy Point.

"Every time I step on a basketball court, that's my mindset."

Luka Garza's standout skill is the effort he pours into everything he does on the basketball court. Consistently, he is the hardest-playing person on the floor.

"He has a special gift."

Sam Hauser just buried a 3 from 31 feet after an 0/6 start from behind the arc. He then threw his hands in the air as if to say, "finally!"

That shot gave the Celtics a 100-74 lead entering the final frame.

A high-hands three from Baylor Scheierman in the left corner. Love to see a no-dip 3.

Maybe I missed it happen on an earlier play, but it looked to me like KCP hurt his arm on that missed three. He was holding it in pain immediately after he released that shot. The Grizzlies are already without six players.

It's not even the halfway mark in the third quarter and the Celtics have a 10-0 advantage in second-chance points in this period. That accounts for majority of their 16 points this frame. They have a 22-6 edge in second-chance scoring tonight.

Payton Pritchard goes coast-to-coast for a tough layup before the halftime buzzer. That fired him up and sent a charge through TD Garden. The Celtics lead the Grizzlies 67-46 at the break.

Joe Mazzulla confirms that Hugo Gonzalez is playing tonight. He will not have a minutes restriction.
Hugo Gonzalez, who is probable for tonight’s game after suffering a left ankle sprain yesterday, is the first one on the court for a pregame workout.

He’s out here with Craig Luschenat and Tyler Lashbrook ahead of tonight’s Celtics-Grizzlies game.

Walsh's growth, rooted in the mental side of the game, is translating to consistency. He keeps building on each noteworthy performance that he's stringing together.

Tuesday, that came in the form of hounding Tyrese Maxey, who went 1/4 against Walsh in the final frame, including 1/3 in crunch time.
"He's learning the understanding of the identity."

Jordan Walsh is fighting for his Celtics tenure and perhaps his NBA future. Thanks to an increased "role player IQ," he has made his most significant career leap at a time it matters most.

I asked Joe Mazzulla if he and Josh Minott spoke about him not playing in the second half and the reasons behind that.

“That’s between me and Josh.”

Joe Mazzulla on the Celtics' final possession:

"Create some indecision on a downhill drive, force the switch, saw Neemi under the rim, just didn't execute it."

Jordan Walsh told me entering this season that “role player IQ” was an area he made his most significant strides. I asked Joe Mazzulla how that has translated on to the court.

His answer ⬇️
Joe Mazzulla on starting Jordan Walsh in the second half:

"He's been playing well. He's been playing well on both sides of the ball."

Mazzulla also praised Walsh for his defense on Maxey.

The Celtics have now upgraded Hugo Gonzalez to available. With 4:40 left, we'll see if he gets back in. He's back on the bench, though.
