Do not normalize children dying from measles. Measles was previously eliminated in the US, thanks to vaccines.

When children die from measles, it means that adults have catastrophically failed to protect them because they have rejected basic science.

If Hamas had killed 7 Israelis inside of Israel this week, it would be one of the biggest stories in the world, & all over the US media.

But Israel killed 7 HUNDRED Palestinians this week, including almost 200 children, & yet there's little outrage from our politicians or media.

I wish folk could see the significance of this post.
A UK Council invested in air filters for schools but made a really terrible choice of machine.
Default auto mode, noisy, big, power hungry, useless added tech; zero plus points.
Upshot; they're unlikely to provide much protection against Covid.

The comfortable lie that broke the world:

“Sorry, I used military word, airborne. It meant to spread via droplets or respiratory transmission. Please take it that way; not military language” Tedros from WHO

Excellent piece by @blakemurdoch.bsky.social on the damage of droplet dogma & denial:
How denial of airborne COVID transmission broke the world - Healthy Debate
Five years later, the greatest basic science failure in generations caused the pandemic harms highlighted by people across the political spectrum, and broke our social cohesion.

New example of "real life" CO2 measurement in a French university when all the windows and doors are closed.

21 students + 1 teacher
Room: 33 m2 (355 ft2), ceiling 2,7 m (9 ft),

In this configuration, it takes less than 5 minutes to exceed the recommended CO2 level of 800 ppm.

It's striking the extent to which there's never any justification given for any of this beyond "it's too many people" or "it's actually fake" and no apparent planning behind any of it. It's the aesthetics of "move fast and break things" without any discernible direction or purpose. It's cosplay.
CDC source:

“We just had word that all our fellows and post doc staff are laid off effective immediately. The famous Epidemic Intelligence Service, aka the Disease Detectives, is no more. That’s 1260 staff.

They are calling this ‘Phase 1’.”

Thank you for raising this. We did the same for schools last year when a parent sent us a list of reasons from the school Trustees as to why they wouldn't consider filtration

Why prioritise clean air in schools? To us, the word “inclusion” is key.

We often hear comments from schools that kids can still get viruses and germs from other environments / extra curricular activities so it won’t make much difference to viral spread in the school 🤷‍♀️

This would be a start to improving IAQ.. but with so little impetus from those in govt or leadership and a lack of awareness of clean air, it seems impossible to shift the dial.
Thread: Clean air roadmap.
We demand clear air in school, hospitals & other public spaces.
But what exactly could be done?
Firstly, the foundation of any change like this has to come from Gov. It starts with being truthful about the risk of infection & why it's essential to try to control it.

What to look for in a commercial HEPA filter.
It's not easy to compare machines.
A few key considerations:
1. CADR
2. Noise
3. Filter grade
4. Cost
5. Hidden extras / tech
6. Replacement filters
7. Auto mode
9. Carbon filter
10. Final thoughts
11. Resources & tweets
