I included a parsing question in my Cognitive exam. The sentences featured pirates and mermaids, and encouraged students to include illustrations to help explain their answer -

More than 50 students included drawings 🥹
while sadly none of my students took up my offer of writing me a haiku ab Cognition on the back of their cheat-sheet for their final essay exam, one DID write "One of my favorite classes at Harvard and helped my love for Psych grow!" 🥰 I'll take it! Fuel for the grading trenches. #PsychSciSky

Really happy to have contributed a chapter to this epic collection, and excited to see it finally almost out!
The Oxford Handbook of Language & Prejudice, edited by Jane Setter, Sender Dovchin, and yours truly, rearticulates and expands upon the connections between language and prejudice.

It is available for pre-order, so please ask your university or local library to order a copy:

I won't highlight them all, but here's an obvious one:

"The literature review is thorough but could be more focused. Some references (e.g., classic Piagetian theories of childhood play) seem tangential to the primary argument and could be condensed"

We simply don't reference these theories.

Hey if anyone is considering backing up any datasets for some reason today, the Open Science Framework has free storage up to 5G/private repository, and up to 50G/public repository.

(The OSF is run by a 501c3 (Center for Open Science), so if you do this you might also consider making a donation.)

What made ancient wolves into dogs? For one hypothesis, where wolves tamed themselves through scavenging our trash, one objection was it would take too long.

A new study shows nope, they could do it. Good boy.  www.nationalgeographic.com/animals/arti...
New model shows dogs could have domesticated themselves
They may have been drawn to the discarded remains from ancient human meals, and a new model shows tame wolves could have become dogs in as little as 8,000 years.

I have been serving on the WWC Stem panel and I am heartbroken over this. 💔 All that work we all did to review works in support of our schools and learners…especially AIR folks who spent the most time on this. Just devastating. 😔 What a waste of taxpayer dollars to cancel crucial works in progress.
