I am gonna make a thread of bus stop signage I see. I’d like to see NJ Transit improve way finding and signage at bus stops and rail stations for buses. This is an example from Wuppertal, North Rhine-Westphalia.
Hmm that’s strange. For the Monday Night Football game, they keep showing shots of San Francisco. But the game is in Santa Clara. Why not show the super wide stroads and strip malls that make Santa Clara such an “interesting” place to live. 🙄

It's alarming how frequently drivers get off without paying fines.

Private cars are incredibly inefficient at 1.2 people per vehicle and yet Waymo's manage to be even worse at 0.55 people per vehicle

Waymo either remains a niche form of expensive transportation for a couple wealthy people, or SF gets covered in highways to accommodate 10x more vehicles on the road

Another one of those anti-transit threads last night from someone who claims to be pro-transit and needs to tell you why they use their car in 15 posts and this was one of the replies.

I guess people who use transit in Jersey City aren’t normal people.

Waymo privatized another public street:

Chanel approaching 4th, San Francisco

Possibly queued for a Billie Eilish show at Chase Center ~half mile away.

The light rail train on 4th seen passing in front of this roboherd has more passenger capacity than all of them combined.

Rick Cotton is stepping down from the Port Authority. We need to pressure Hochul to appoint someone who cares about transit.

Seems like a bad design if a line of cars can use the bike lane as a turn lane. A bump out where the parking lane is and concrete protection on the bike lane would fix this.

Yeah, turns out even “normal” structures are at risk when there’s little attention paid to reckless driving, and people are unnecessarily driving very powerful vehicles.

Makes you wonder if Dunkin Donuts values the safety of their employees and customers.

Maybe Halton Hills, Ont should do a better job regulating motorized vehicles.

I keep seeing these all over Easton, Pa. What’s so interesting: seeing some people with these signs who were getting deliveries from these dangerous oversized vehicles. Where do these people except to get their packages from? Why aren’t they concerned about emissions from their luxury SUVs

Wanna stick it to Trump and live up to the Paris Accords, California? Stop driving so much *and* tell your city council's to build bus and bike lanes instead of throwing away money on car infrastructure.

The hard truth: If this Council fails to pass Universal Daylighting or passes a watered down version, kids will die, and it will be entirely Adrienne Adams' fault.

Majority of people who commute into NY from NJ do so by bus via the Lincoln Tunnel. Please don’t forget about these people @kim.senate.gov @mikiesherrill.bsky.social

Lincoln Tunnel bus service has a bigger impact than the Raritan Valley line.

Here are the buses with yearly ridership over 1m.

Here you go. This includes the entire Jersey City bus network.

6, 9, 80, even the 82 which is a rush hour route, seeing dramatic increases.

And the 85, 86, and 125 seeing declining ridership.

Wow that’s pretty cool. Wonder how many other mayors ride the bus.

“Allentown Mayor Matt Tuerk, who rides the bus, shared conversations he had with LANTA riders about the importance of bus service.”

Buses work even in mixed traffic and are more affordable than driving yourself. When you're on a bus, you can also do other things, which is not true of driving. You also don't have to find or pay for parking when you ride the bus. You are prizing absolute speed over every other factor...
November 21, 2025 at 5:51 PM
Just think how much money, resources are used from the city to respond to these calls. We can’t afford to properly fund our schools, but nobody bats an eye for the money flushed down the toilet because people who drive like maniacs have some sort of special privilege in our society.
#JCcrashes Just now, a crash at JFK and Lexington requiring fire response. Last August, another crash at this same intersection flipped over a traffic enforcement vehicle. Via Reddit: https://t.co/GO5oMLx24q #FixJFKBlvd @HudCoTweet @CraigGuyHC https://t.co/kfts2CHSEE

@politicsofcars.bsky.social Don’t want to annoy that person, so I’ll just at you here. There’s a lot of uniformed opinions (I don’t mean that as an insult) and a lot of false narratives about buses that we have to push back against.
Was at party downtown this summer with people who share lots of my views on urbanism, a gentleman who lived downtown told me nobody used the bus here in JC.

Past 2 days, walked up to the 87 bus stop just as an almost full passed by. 8-10 minutes later another buses pulls up standing room only.
