It’s really simple…

- Cap all political donations
- Ban foreign donations
- Strict conflict‑of‑interest & anti‑corruption laws with penalties
- No titles, honours or peerages for donors
- No govt contracts for donors
- Publish every donation/lobby meeting

…that’ll do it.

The first thing Yaxley-Lennon did on leaving court was to thank Elon Musk for funding his legal costs.

That's Elon Musk who has repeatedly called for civil war in the UK.

As of typing this - all of the major politicians and platforms maintain a presence on X and it is time for them all to leave.

Independent bookstores are donating to food banks and organizations that help with food insecurity.

They are not the same.

Celebrating 25 years of the Human Rights Act with the brilliant @libertyhq.bsky.social at the House of Lords hosted by Lord Alton.

The ECHR is much more than a treaty. It’s a quiet promise - a shield against abuse of power, a lifeline for the vulnerable, a declaration of who we are as a nation.

There is no need for a moral panic about the UK's welfare system.

Far from perfect but recent discourse is nuts

Spending is controlled, not spiralling

Worklessness is near record lows

The best way to defeat Reform is for millions of people to hear a version of this message:

"Farage's Brexit made you poorer. Don't let him do it again"

Oh Nigel 🙄

Normally I’m an advocate for heavily reframing arguments to take them away from Reform’s insidiously poisonous propaganda traps, but here I’m just all “huh, wtf??”

Also is “God help us” a knock-off attempt at a “Thank you for your attention to this matter” trademark sign-off? Sad.
I mean, this is really desperate shit, isn’t it? I am a great deal more woke-sceptic than pretty much all of Bluesky but I honestly can’t be bothered to care about the National Trust putting vegan tampons in the men’s toilets and neither should you

Some good news.

London is meeting legal limits for toxic NO2 pollution for the first time – almost 200 years earlier than predicted – following the Mayor’s "world leading air pollution policies," City Hall announces.

The Ultra Low Emissions Zone - and similar policies - really do work.

Trigger warning: if you actually care about those affected by baby loss you don't start hassling them in the street about it.
Anti abortion campaign groups have reached a new low - whether you are supportive or not of legal abortion access this kind of behaviour has no place in democracy.
