I took a total break from BlueSky.

Looking down on the spire of St Just in Roseland and towards the tidal creek that the 13th century church sits alongside. To the left are acanthus flowers which grow well in Cornwall. The gardens are planted with semitropical shrubs and trees. There are boats alongside the creek and the hills of the Roseland Peninsular in the distance.

In the garden late afternoon on Thursday the smoke bush and small magnolia tree were hanging on to their last leaves, they’ve gone now!

St James’ Church, Elstead. In October Brian May, of Queen fame, donated 3000 daffodils and he, along with local children, planted them on the village green and around this church.

The coots seem to hang out in the most scenic of places. There is definitely shortage of moorhens in this area. My photo has reeds and grasses and seed heads in the foreground. The coots are in the centre of the photo. In the distance very thick reeds line the bank with autumnal trees as a background. The bright blue sky, clouds and trees are reflected on the water.

TV Programme….
Robin Hood.
My painting is a line and wash watercolour. One local legend has it that Robin Hood came to the bay and fought French pirates giving their pirate hoard to the poor. Robin Hood’s Bay is a historic and very attractive fishing village, with steep cliffs, winding narrow streets, little fishermen’s cottages and of course the beautiful sea.

Probably built as hammer ponds for the local iron industry but not used. It is National Trust land with an abundance of mature beech trees.

The beech trees surrounding this pond are at their most beautiful and are reflected on the water with a patch of blue sky. There is a beautiful v-shaped wake from the duck swimming.

Autumn at Waggoners Wells which is a series of ponds created in the 17th Century fed from a stream near the Devil’s Punchbowl.

Surrounded by beautiful beech tree and with the ground a carpet of rust coloured leaves the sun lights up the opposite side of this pond. The ponds run into each other and at this spot there is a wooden bridge to cross the trickling stream running down to the next pond.
